I've just discovered a brand of shoe that is a God-send for people like me. I have flat feet. Foot fatigue and discomfort have always been an issue, but in the last 10 years it's become a much bigger problem. Any amount of walking or standing results in foot pain so severe that I feel crippled. I've tried different brands of shoes, inserts, even custom made orthotic inserts. Some give me a certain degree of relief but I still have to temper walks with frequent breaks to rest my feet. And to add insult to injury, my left leg is enough shorter than my right to cause occasional pain in my left hip due to the added impact. Finding shoes that are comfortable is a major task, huge in fact. Yesterday I went to a shoe store that carries several brands advertised as orthopedic. The staff introduced me to the MBT brand, a Swiss-made shoe that "mimics walking on soft, uneven ground". As soon as I put them on and stood up, I knew this was the shoe for me. There is so much cushion and "spring" in the beds that I don't need my inserts for arch support or even the lift I use for my short leg. I don't know why I've never heard of these shoes before. They're wonderful. Last night I was walking around the house giggling like a kid on Christmas morning because they are so comfortable. The difference they've made already is amazing. I was so impressed with the pair I bought yesterday that I went back today and purchased two more pairs. If you or any of your loved ones have foot problems, I highly recommend looking into MBTs. |

My feet always bother me, as well, and I always have to make big investments in my shoes to be able to walk with comfort. I understand the happiness of finding the right shoe brand! For my sandals, I love Merrells. Not the best looking shoes, but SO comfy. Keens are also good. |

I have two pairs of Merrells also. With the Birkenstock insert, they are pretty comfortable. I've also had good luck with Teva's Mush flip-flops. But, nothing gave me enough support or comfort so I could actually walk. That's why I'm so tickled with my new MBTs. |

Yup, I have those Teva mush flip flops as well. I can´t believe how comfy they are for how cheap they were, and how flimsy they look. Mine have taken a SEVERE beating here. Santa will hopefully be bringing a new pair.

I'm looking at Keens right now - I think they'll fit my feet better than most shoes - but I haven't worn them yet. |

I thought the Danskos might work for me, too, before the MBTs came into the picture. They have some darling styles and the store carries a large selection. I still might try some one day. |
