Ya get your patio brick out of the way for the excavation. That's what ya get.

2, 088 bricks x 6.125 lbs per brick = a lot of work.

Hubby and daughter helped me, or perhaps I should say I helped them. It took our whole family to git 'er done.

I started it Friday, and we all worked on it yesterday and today. Whew! I'm tired, but my hands are OK. I let hubby and daughter do the hand lifting, while I used the shovel the lift the bricks from their sand base. That used the palms of my hands, and lots of other body parts, but not my fingers. :thumb:

I'll start taking pics as the excavation begins, George. Right now there isn't that much to show.

I sure hope Jolly doesn't spank me again for moving bricks. :lol2:

Wait a cotton-picking minute. Hasn't the ground frozen there yet? You are starting a major renovation in Minnesooota in late November???

But for the purist (like me), there's nothing like the original.

First of all, a live performance...

Tennessee Ernie Ford is the one who owns that song. Nobody else comes close.

I agree with Brenda but I've always liked this version too:

So you can use it for a short while without having to buy one. Why else would it rent for?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

There are no rentals for that in our town. The nearest one is 30 miles away.

We had to stack them behind our shed, too, because they will get reused, We used our own lawn tractor and trailer to haul them.

Jolly, we sometimes rent equipment, even though it is a trip, so we are familiar with the rental options in our area. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't a viable option.

I should also note that we often check to see how expensive equipment is, especially if we'll use it more than once, and sometimes we just buy it, instead of paying multiple rental fees. We've bought a drywall lift, two sets of adjustable scaffolding on wheels, multiple air nailers, multiple air compressors, house jacks, and all kinds of unusual things.

Hubby likes these things.
