We have been enjoying a very nice fall here and the colors are at their peak. Saturday it hit 63 and was perfect bike riding weather. The boys were marching in the Veteran's Day parade in the morning and we had breakfast downtown and then enjoyed the parade. Afterwards, Mr Cathys and I decided to hop the ferry over to Jamestown and take a ride down the Colonial Parkway.

Here are a few pics from last Friday, one of the roads around our neighborhood:

Yes, what a week it's been for Virginia scenery! Along the Blue Ridge & Shenandoah Valley has been beautiful.
The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Looks like you came over to my neck of the woods. Colonial parkway?

When you got off of the ferry you were two miles from my house!

Thanks everyone - PD we could have swung by, I didn't realize you were that close to Jamestown :) - It was a beautiful ride but would have liked to have made it all the way down to Yorktown. Unfortunately we got a late start and we were losing daylight pretty fast.

Beautiful! :) In Tennessee, we didn't have enough rain to have much of a pretty fall. We got some color, but then a couple of days of high winds, and most of our leaves are gone. Thanks for sharing, Cathy. :)

We didn't get much rain either. I'm surprised at the color here, given the lack of summer rain.

HOLY CARP!!!
What a beautiful place. All that colour, I love it. We don't see that all that often here (we get too much rain!). It doesn't get much better than a crisp autumn day, sun shining and leaves full of colour.
