Time to see what's the favorite sonata. If you want to play, here's the procedure: Here is the list of the 26 sonatas that got more than one vote in the poll I started last week. Each sonata is (arbitrarily) awarded five points. 26 * 5 gives a total of 130 possible points. When you select a sonata over another, give it one more point, while subtracting a point from one you don't like. This way, the total available point count remains at 130. Continue the process, cutting and pasting the list so that the next person can follow it. When a sonata has zero points, it falls off the list - eliminated from further consideration. For example, lets say I preferred the Schubert D960 over the Scriabin #5, the list would then look like this: Schubert D960 - 6 Scriabin #5 - 4 If another person likes the Schubert more than the Scriabin, the next list would look like this: Schubert D960 - 7 Scriabin #5 - 3 So, here's the list: Barber 5 points Beethoven Op 106 5 points Beethoven Op 109 5 points Beethoven Op 110 5 points Beethoven Op 111 5 points Beethoven Op 27 #2 5 points Beethoven Op 7 5 points Beethoven Op 81a 5 points Beethoven Op. 57 5 points Beethoven Op 31 #3 5 points Berg 5 points Boulez #2 5 points Brahms #3 5 points Chopin Op 58 5 points Haydn Hob XVI 52 5 points Liszt 5 points Mozart K 310 5 points Mozart K 333 5 points Prokofiev #2 5 points Prokofiev #7 5 points Prokofiev #8 5 points Schubert D 958 5 points Schubert D 959 5 points Schubert D 960 5 points Scriabin #2 5 points Scriabin #5 5 points I'll start, if you don't mind (or even if you do ). Here's my revised list.Barber 5 points Beethoven Op 106 5 points Beethoven Op 109 5 points Beethoven Op 110 5 points Beethoven Op 111 5 points Beethoven Op 27 #2 5 points Beethoven Op 7 5 points Beethoven Op 81a 5 points Beethoven Op. 57 5 points Beethoven Op 31 #3 5 points Berg 4 points Boulez #2 5 points Brahms #3 5 points Chopin Op 58 5 points Haydn Hob XVI 52 5 points Liszt 5 points Mozart K 310 5 points Mozart K 333 5 points Prokofiev #2 5 points Prokofiev #7 5 points Prokofiev #8 5 points Schubert D 958 5 points Schubert D 959 5 points Schubert D 960 6 points Scriabin #2 5 points Scriabin #5 5 points |

Actually, I don't see why not? If you take points off of two sonatas and add to the one you like... On the other hand, I can see someone adding 5 to one and killing another which wouldn't be fair. How about 1 vote per post, or two votes are allowed if they don't involve the same piece? Does that sound fair? |
