Bought a couple pounds of Roma Tomatos few days ago. Yesterday I quartered them and seasoned with S&P, Garlic Powder,Basil, Oregano, EVOO. Roasted them at 350 for 30 minutes.
This morning I sauteed up 1&1/2 pounds Hot Italian Sausage. Half in bite sized pieces, the rest loose out of the casing, with fresh garlic.
The two entities will be joined together tonight and tossed with a pasta to be named later.
My Apt. smells like South Philly.

Sounds fantastic. Throw in a nice Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and you'll be in hog heaven.

This is what I was drinking lately.. very nice, big for the type. Fattoria de Valentina.

Vince, I must be getting old. The hot Italian sausage gives me heartburn for a day or more.

Not me. I had spicy Thai last night, and had them make it extra spicy. Tom Kha soup with shrimp and a green curry pork.

Bring the heat, bring the pain.

I can handle curries and other spicy things, but hot Italian sausage wrecks me. I think it's the combination of grease in the meat and the type of spice.

I love curry. I love spicy Chinese foods. I love spicy food!

By the way, I just started the reheat process and it called out for something else.
So I put in a whole pile of little white mushrooms and some fresh Basil. Looks and smells wonderful.

Mmmm.. how far away are you now?

Tonight will be grilled steaks or pork chops, corn picked within the hour, tomatoes and cucumbers with onions in a little rice vinegar maybe. Summer grub.

And for lunch, I had fried chicken; KFC's original recipe, three piece leg and thigh meal, with double coleslaw on the side, and a big cup of margarita flavored slush ice topped with strawberry preserves. :thumb:

I chose a Sangiovese. I'm having a glass right now. My guests will get here at 6:00.
I suppose a half hour cocktail then dinner. I have some huge Jersey tomatos. Along with them, Red onion and Boston lettuce. These are my healthy friends so just fresh fruit for dessert.
Mik, your menu sounds great, together our dinners would make a hell of a Buffet.

Veggie Burritos. Beans, Rice, Avacado, and more. My potassium's a little low, and avacoado was recommended.

Me too. I don't get heartburn often, but when I do, it's usually when I'm eating sausage or something greasy and slighty hot.
And how are you today?

Small change. Filet mignon a la GeorgeK, caprese salad and corn. Our guests brought a scratch flourless chocolate cake.

Sangiovese would be at least as good a match. Buon appetito!
