I ask because I'm thinking about a half-hour unconsciousness here in a minute. I'm dragging today.

I don't take them and wish I could. A one-hour power nap in the middle of the day would be great for my mind and body, I think.

Riley - I also wake up the same way, but after about 10 minutes I feel right as rain.

It depends on your sexual orientation (are you gay), your value system (are you a Scientologist), your relationship with that woman (is she you sister), and your mental and physiological conditions at the time (taking any prescription drugs that might adversely interact with Viagra), doesn't it?

Well, I'll tell you, I feel pretty weird physically at about 4:30 pm each day. I'm just super keyed up, for no reason. I think if anyone tried to rob me when I was on my walk from my office to the metro I would probably rip them in half like a phone book.

So I get on the metro, pull out my book, and right about the time we go aboveground I pass out for about 20 minutes. It doesn't recharge me any but I wake up at my stop feeling a lot more close to normal.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Twenty minutes, that's all the nap I need. That's a true power nap.

+1

90 minutes is ideal, although the occasional 30 minute power nap helps.

Naps are not good, they are great. I SO wish I could take one right now.

I like naps.

I think I may have one this afternoon after my bike ride.

I think naps are wonderful and sometimes necessary. If I'm feeling a bit sluggish in the afternoon, a snooze ranging from 10 to 45 minutes is almost better than chocolate. If I'm really tired, I just say fvck it and climb into bed for a much needed 2 hour coma.

Give yourself permission then curl up in your comfiest chair or couch. Heavenly.

This was true of me in college. Not anymore. I wish we had a couch here at work and were allowed to take a 20-30 minute siesta in the afternoon. When I've done that at home I get up feeling very refreshed and ready to get something accomplished.

Since it is not allowed, I often drag for a couple hours at work and get little done.

As long as you sleep well at night, naps are good. Between midday and 2pm I usually have 15-20 minutes flat on my back, home or work.

I LOVE naps! Since I'm not working right now, I take an afternoon nap most days. When I worked at the horse farms in Farmville, I'd get home around 1 and nap for about an hour. Very refreshing.
And how are you today?

One of my favorite schedules to have is stay up late, get up early, and take a lil nap in the afternoon. Naps aren´t always possible, but this is a culture of siestas (as with many countries with intense mid-day heat), and afternoon rests are very much encouraged. :)

Put me in the "I love naps" category.
Oh, yes.

I rarely get a chance to nap, but when I'm on call, I frequently have a quiet period between 3 and 5. I try to get a 20 minute power nap in during that time. If I can do that, I'm good til midnight or so.

I think naps were listed amongst the "habits of highly effective people" that someone wrote a book about decades ago. It's an interesting thing. Anybody in the position to have a nap in the middle of the day will be likely to be either poor or rich. So there's some correlation there along with the causation when you're considering being "highly effective". But it also means you have peace of mind. With peace of mind comes lots of other good things like the ability to focus. So there's the causation. And that's before considering the real biological benefit of a mid-day sleep.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

We all agree - naps are good!

I like a 1 hour nap. In the afternoon . I'm kind of grumpy if I don't get it.
