I found the thread Horace posted quite amusing at this early morning. All, what are your favorite raw chicken purchases? Foster Farms, Zacky, Rocky the Range, Rosie's, Tysons, generic from Safeway/Vons etc., Costco, or from other grocery stores? I actually liked Rosie's the other day. My taste buds must be getting used to lower salt. However, in the past, I didn't like Diesel brand turkeys, due to less salt, and I liked that salty turkey flavor. Good Morning! |

Grass-fed chicken and turkey FTW!!! We get ours from a local farm. Juicy and tasty compared to grocery store products. |

If you must buy store chicken, Bell and Evans or som other air-chilled naturally raised is best. Gerber Farm is quite good too. I can get them here in Ann Arbor or at home at my butcher. But local free range is by far the tastiest chicken you can get. |

HOLY CARP!!!

Regarding home-cooked chicken, i only bother to cook it in my slow cooker. First I take the skin off since after 8 hours in a slow cooker the skin is gross. It tastes great. I am liberal with the "rub". It's just chicken soup basically, heavy on the chicken, light on the soup. |
