Though we don't have one at our place, our "sister" hospital to the west does (we share staff). The gyne and urology guys love it because they can "see" places the normally wouldn't have access to. It makes the surgery less traumatic because you don't have to pull things out of the way to get to where you want to go.

It is, however, very, very expensive. Also, there's a steep learning curve. By way of example, in 1991, a straightforward laparoscopic gallbladder would take about 3 to 4 four hours. I did one yesterday in 1:15.
