HOLY CARP!!!
|
I got the rejection letter today. Oh well. I'm going to set up a meeting with the director of the program and ask what I need to do to get my qualifications up to standards. In the meantime, I can get a full time job and get more money! I was on the way to an interview when I stopped by the mailbox and checked. I hope I get the job - they're looking for one part time and one full time person. |

Aww... Sorry to hear that. I think. Sometimes, taking a break and being in the "real" world is good (though you've been doing that for a while). Good luck with the new job. Tell us more about what it is, etc. |

HOLY CARP!!!

I and my parents think along that line too, George. Funny thing is I was trying to go back to school because I wasn't finding a job. Now it will have to be the opposite. The job I interviewed for was at a carriage barn downtown for one of the 4 or 5 carriage tour companies. So, I'd be shovelling sh!t and such but it's good-ish pay for such a job and I could pretty much be independent from my dad if i get to work full time, which is what I want. I'd have to be there a bit before 6:30 am...right now I get up around 10:30. I can do it though. I need work, and I like working with horses (especially draft horses) so I could do it. Really, I need to do it if I get the offer. I need work, and I can't be picky. |

Draft horses are wonderful, aren't they? "She was only the stable-hand's daughter, but all the horsemen knew her." (say it fast) Good luck LW. Keep us posted. |

ZOOOOOM!

You have my full empathy, LW. My turn on the Grand Dark Lottery that is grad school applications is fast approaching. I'm anticipating at least 9 rejections. You have the right mindset about it, though. If it's really something you want to do, you'll be able to start when the time is right, no worries. What's the job like? EDIT Nevermind, I gotcha.
For a lot of reasons, that's a good job to have. G'luck!

HOLY CARP!!!

Thanks! I will. I also interviewed at another carriage company for the same job, but no reply although they said they were looking to hire in a couple weeks, so I may get a call. No idea about the pay there. The place I just interviewed with is called Old South Carriage Company. The drivers and front people wear kind-of Confederate uniforms - white shirts, gray pants, a Confederate-looking cap and a red sash at the waist. I had never thought of this, but my mom said today: "I'm surprised the NAACP hasn't said anything about that". Interesting thought. |

ZOOOOOM!

A friend of mine had a confederate flag flying on the inside of his room in college, covering up both his doors. It wasn't more than a week he moved into the place when a woman walked by and complained. "Is that the sort of image you all want to have? That's all I'm saying." I was going to tell her that she had some interesting correlations with the flag but my friend was quicker and replied by saying it's his ****ing room and he'll fly whatever the **** he damn well wants across his windows. |

I don't like the Confederate flag, but I kind of like the idea of this company's uniforms. I mean, it is the South and Charleston is where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. A lot of important history there. |

Sorry to hear that LW.

| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |
