HOLY CARP!!!

The fact that someone has a political bumper sticker makes a more important point about them than whatever pithy words they've defaced their car with ever could about politics. |

Nothing other than a tangent related to bumper stickers. |

I hate political bumper stickers. I mean, unless I agree with them of course. But srsly... In general I'm annoyed by people who think I care about how clever they may or not be. I do have Donate Life plates though - but that's different. I did contemplate making a bumper sticker earlier this year voicing my approval of states choosing not to have helmet laws, as 80,000 people are waiting for live-giving kidney transplants. Something like: "Donorcycles: Feel free not to wear a helmet - someone needs your kidney." |

I've always been opposed to helmet laws. Two main reasons: 1) Not wearing your helmet is a personal choice (I don't think you should be required to wear a seat belt, either). If something bad happens, it's your responsibility. 2) If you wear a helmet and have a bad cycle crash, you become a quadriplegic - we don't need more of those. If you don't wear your helmet, and crash, you become an organ donor. Having said that, I have worn a seat belt since they were an option in the cars you buy. It's my choice to do so. |

George - out of interest, do you think it should be legally mandated that children must wear a seatbelt? |
| What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket? | |

Yes, because they're not legally capable of making an intelligent and informed choice. When they're adults, it's their responsibility. |
