Do any of you track your outdoor cats or wonder where they go? A relative put a CatCam on her outdoor cat. One cat mystery solved.

A few photos to show how it works, with the relative's captions:

"I really would have been happier not knowing he crosses that street."

"First overnight trip. May 21-22. I really hope he didn't actually go into Golfland."

Looks like he was going THROUGH a few homes.

I had no idea a cat would range so far. None of ours our let out on purpose.

He made it home. She has months of these cat tracks posted on her FB. Her comments are hilarious.

I remember as a kid playing in a field a long way from where I lived, and being completely gob-smacked to run across our cat one evening.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

It looks like the CatCam also comes in video and timed photo versions.

Yeah, I was looking at their product lineup - pretty cool!

That is hilarious.

I would have loved one of those for my cat growing up. She was a true Pollock herself.

What are the flag and "S" and "E" symbols?

Boy, a lot of cats would have been dead by now in that neighborhood with those large streets. I've heard that the first year or two of an outdoor cat's life are the most perilous; that after that they learn street smarts.

I would think the last year of a cat's life would be the most perilous.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

LsD: You're both right. The first two years are the most perilous - and most outdoor cats only last about that long, so that second year is indeed the most perilous, as is their last year.
