I hope the food was good, I've not eaten there, but I've never had a bad meal at any of the better restaraunts in New Orleans. I assume at Antoine's one doesn't just eat, but dines. They've been in business since 1840, so I guess they're doing something right... |

Nothing pretentious about the place at all. Comfortable surroundings with friendly staff and great food. Yes, dining is how I would describe it. |

My friend, you know not what you miss. A good seafood gumbo is an epicurean delight...and the nice thing about gumbo is that we can throw anything in there we want...so if you want some chicken and sausage in your seafood gumbo, we'll be happy to oblige. And if you're from Biloxi, we'll throw some hamburger in there, too. Not to mention an occasional peeled boiled egg. If that don't do it, we'll go Avoyelles Parish style, and put an ice cream scoop of potato salad in your bowl along with your rice and gumbo. |

Mm.. I made a big paella Sunday with chicken, andouille and shrimp. Great stuff. Paella is just kind of a Spanish gumbo anyway. |

Nope, I was right the first time: The term gourmet may refer to a person with refined or discriminating taste or to one that is knowledgeable in the art of food and food preparation. Gourmand carries additional connotations of one who simply enjoys food in great quantities. An epicure is similar to a gourmet, but the word may sometimes carry overtones of excessive refinement. |
