Hello everyone! It's been so long since I've had the time to drop by. I feel that I owe a baby update. So Riley, now almost 10 months old (on the 15th), is a fast crawler with one lower tooth in and another one starting to come through. He has recently (though unsuccessfully) been trying to pull himself up on things. He can get part way, but can't quite seem to get all the way up on his feet. However, if you hold onto him and put in on his feet, he'll stand with you. Also if you put him up against something, say the edge of ottoman, he'll hold himself up for a while. He's eating solids very well. Yesterday Kassandre and I went to Red Robin and Riley had his first ever french fry. Kassandre gave it to him thinking that he was suck on it (like he does with apple slices and strawberries) but instead he shoved the whole fry into his mouth at one time and swallowed it. And if you've ever been to Red Robin, you know how big the fries there are! We were worried he might choke on it but he was fine and seemed to like it. One of the ladies working there gave him a balloon. He LOVES it when you hit the balloon in a way that makes it hit and bounce off of his face. Makes him laugh just about every time. Now that he's getting older, we've noticed a trend in that he takes shorter and less frequent naps. This results in him becoming overly tired and very cranky at times. I know that his teeth bother him too, though. We give him orajel and/or baby Tylenol to help, and it usually does the job. I've realized that when it comes to washing him, it's easiest just to take him into the shower with me (I put a nonslip mat down and sit with him under the water) and he does pretty well with it. He's getting to be so big now, and has changed so much that I can't believe it when I look at old pictures of him from his first few months. I don't have any new photos available to post right now, but I'll try to get some uploaded soon. In other news Kassandre is working on getting into school for a nursing assistant, and I am considering taking some courses in home inspection. In the meantime, I am still a full time employee at Walgreens and recently (at the end of March) passed my three year anniversary with the company. I still find time to play my piano too, and am still writing music when I can come up with something that sounds good. I plan to post more to youtube at some point in the not too distant future. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, a couple of weeks ago we traded our Kia Spectra in for a Kia Sorento. More storage space that we badly needed. We miss the Spectra but are very happy with the added storage capacity of the Sorento. It doesn't cost us much more per month than the other car and only had 35 miles on the odometer when we got it. It's a 2011 model. So there it is. What's new around here? |

Kenny, those are fantastic photos! It's amazing how small they are, it was a good idea to compare them to the size of a dime. |
