Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

I had forgotten about this, it's been so long since the question regarding her age first came up.

Let us begin anew, remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness.

Sure took long enough. I can only presume they are also checking on a few others since then. Bit ridiculous though, that it takes this long. That was 10 years ago, who really cares. They should focus on getting accurate birthdates before the event.

Took a little long, but assuming that the facts are there to support it, it's a good decision nonetheless.

I hope the little girl (a young woman now, I suppose) gets some benefit from of having that Bronze Medal for the last 10 years. She's a victim of a corrupt, overbearing government's state apparatus.

As so many Olympic athletes have been.

It was devastating to learn the details of what the East Germans did to their athletes:

PBS' Doping for Gold

Yeah. Equating athletic achievement with national pride really is a silly idea.
