Hope you didn't make any threats, Aqua. Remember the Secret Service is part of the Treasury Department.

Not at all, I just politely suggested that they forceably insert their request for more money (after habitually flushing my prior "donations" down the toilet) up their anuses.

Yeah, not a lot of upside in telling them to fcuk themselves.
Feels more productive than giving them more money to waste.

Its not like Treasury is spending it. (most of it anyway) They're just collecting on behalf of the government.

So how did you contribute, John? Credit Card or direct access to your bank account?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

This is the oddest board.

So many here are just recently obsessed with the deficit, having ignored it for some 10 years prior, and now when offered a way to help do something about it they make jokes.

Puzzling.

Any idea how (un)successful this program has been? How many dollars donated?

Steve, I think we're being consistent.

We complain about things, and expect that someone else should fix the problem. Isn't that how it's supposed to work?

we're the ones who pay the interest.. why not?

The must really believe the American people are complete fools.

What we need to do is cut the size of the federal and state governments down to the point where the feds take in a 500 billion dollar surplus each year and the states do the same proportionally to their debt, for the next 20-30 years and pay it off with the money they already steal from us.
