Hey, blondie! Love the floor in your place. Think I will move in with you or 1hp.

The platform rocker is used as dog toy storage. The throw is to keep the sun off the piano.

And the sun on the sideboard

It snowed 10". Started yesterday and finally quit around 11am today.
Then a lot melted by 3pm around my place.

Will never post a picture of my bedroom.

Our living room is a multi-focus room - piano room, recording studio, home theatre, listening room, art studio, massage treatment room, exercise studio, bird sanctuary, gallery, etc. Vacuum cleaner is nearly a permanent fixture in the room thanks to the seed tossing contests the birds engage in.

HOLY CARP!!!
Wow, Kluurs.
Most cool house ever.
I could totally just move in right now.

What kind of birds do you have?
I love all those wrap-around windows and couches that are not backed up against a wall, they both give a feeling of infinity space.
What year was the house built?
Are those hand-colored botanical prints from books? Got any close ups? I love those things.
What are all those metals on the bust for?

What a great room, kluurs. Especially the windows. I would kill for those windows. And those botanical prints.

Kenny - the houe was built in 1928. It i an American 4-square.

We love the windows. They cost a small fortune when we installed them a few years back. We thought we'd get window treatments of some sort - but ultimately decided we liked the light even more - so we have shades but never use them.

Here's a photo of an owl finch. We used to have more - and some gouldian finches - but we're waiting for these guys to pass on - and then we'll start again.

This is a dutch oil painting - 19th century. Our tastes are pretty eclectic.

Your place is gorgeous kluurs. What exposure do those orchids have?

I once managed to get a cattelya to reblossom but not since... in fact, it died. :( Doing well (knock on wood) with phals. though.

Hi Bernard,

Southern exposure. Carol's the orchid grower. SHe's quite meticulous. The plants are generally only watered once a week and are fertilized as needed. Overwatering is probably the biggest danger to orchids.

Carol's given a number of orchids to people - and now is the consultant to her friends and coworkers. It fits with my own desire to bring th eoutdoors indoors. In Chicago we have a lot of gray days in the winter - so the plants, pictures of plants, birds and lighting all help the cause.

K

BTW, you can see this Japanese woodblock in the last photo. I always liked the title..."the honeymoon..." One doesn't have to be Freud or John D'oh to pick up the symbolism...

NS, that sheet music looks like good $hit. It looks familiar - I think I even practiced it for some time, but I can't identify it right now. Is that an "ossia" passage in the last stave or are you supposed to play everything together?

Haha! i've never heard the term good $hit applied to piano music! Ususally something else :bluewink:

that's Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in the foreground, with a Mozart behind it.
