ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Opponents of the fiscally conservative tea party movement say they plan to infiltrate and dismantle the political group by trying to make its members appear to be racist, homophobic and moronic.
Jason Levin, creator of http://www.crashtheteaparty.org, said Monday the group has 65 leaders in major cities across the country who are trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15—tax filing day, when tea party groups across the country are planning to gather and protest high taxes.

"Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn't an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, 'That's right, he's an alien from outer space!'" Levin said.

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

That is just wrong. If the Tea Party wants to look stupid, let them do that on their own. "Help" should not be provided in that regard.

Is anyone actually taking that site seriously? This post from the forum about sums it up:

I officially declare the Crash the Tea Party site crashed!!! Thanks to the work of Andrew Breitbart of Breitbart.com and all of us from the right-wing bloggoshere, this site is a crazy mess of liberals, conservatives, liberals pretending to be conservatives, conservatives pretending to be liberals pretending to be conservatives. Nobody has any idea what the hell anybody else is talking about, and absolutely nothing is gonna be planned on this site!!! I officially declare CrashtheTeaParty.org the second fatality of Andrew Breitbart, following ACORN!!! Let's celebrate!!! Long live the Tea Party!!! Long live Andrew Breitbart!!! Long live Sarah Palin!!! May Obama, Pelosi, and Reid be shown the door within the next 2 years, amen!!!

I've thought about joining a tea party / protest, perhaps I will on 9/12 this year in DC in what (I expect) will be the biggest protest anyone has seen down there in a long time. You think last year's was big? Maybe I'll just go and take pictures / video.

I want to research the issues a bit more before I participate in anything. From what I've seen, they seem to essentially be a grassroots libertarian-style movement, which I like.

And yes, there are extremists in all parties. No one need point out the loons that were protesting during the Bush years.
