Extremely sad.

What's odd is today I was looking at the traffic cameras of the blocked off areas and saw bikers and pedestrians crossing the street like normal, but since there are barely any cars I thought to myself, "I wonder if they are crossing without as much caution today". :(

ZOOOOOM!
That's fairly close to where I am every day.

It was a ****ing mad house down there, let me tell you. Motorcades tearassing through the city every 20 minutes or so, and a lot of times, you couldn't see them until they were a block away and when they're going 55-60 in an otherwise 25-30 mph zone, that's not nearly enough time.

Horrible accident but I hope people (i.e., the government) stop and think about this. I don't automatically put the cyclist at fault.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

Oh neither do I.

I hope a full, independent, investigation is done and justice is served. I would hope the motorcade driver (presumably the lead car), if responsible, is given a hard but fair punishment for killing someone.

I agree entirely.

The thing is, so far the vibe I'm getting is "oh it was just an unfortunate accident."
