Only practical application for me would be sports.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

See point #5 in my list of inventions that I talked about a few months ago: http://s10.zetaboards.com/The_New_Coffee_Room/single/?p=8484155&t=7231792

pwn3d.

...sorta, I didn't act on the idea, but I see it's starting to get its due.

I need to follow your posts more carefully in the future, 89.

Clearly, you are a visionary. Now if you can just follow through on the idea, we could all make a lot of money....

I read the list. "I invented"? You admit you use the term loosely, but you're actually using it erroneously. Inventing is more than just having an idea. Inventing includes design and implementation, which is 99% of the merit of an invention. Everyone has ideas. Very few invent them. (I thought of the streaming movies thing too. haha). You didnt invent any of those things. Or at least inasmuch as Gore invented the internet.

Quag - first of all, I know I know...I used the term very loosely. More of a way to make myself feel better. :)

And while I know it's not wise for me to get into a semantics debate here (media vs medium, definition of coward, etc), I have to mention that the first definition in the dictionary for "invent" came up: If you invent something such as a machine or process, you are the first person to think of it or make it.

which dictionary? this one disagrees: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/invent

But even your definition here is misrepresented. You only invented it if you are the first person to think of it, true, but that applies to things that were actually invented. Since your things dont exist, they werent invented by you or by anyone. Your definition is a bit cyclic. If you invent something is the key to your definition. You're claiming the consequent without fulfilling the antecedent.

But yeah, prob not wise to descend into semantics.
