HOLY CARP!!!
The Commonwealth of Taxachusetts is really worthy of its name!

It's very good at collecting taxes!

The Commonwealth's Department of Revenue (DOR) is doing a great job of making it easy for people to pay their taxes online. The web site is easy to use -- easy to register, easy to schedule/make payment, easy to track refund/payment; not just for the annual April 15 tax returns, but also for various estimated taxes, business taxes, fiduciary taxes, etc. The visionaries, architects, and developers of the system really deserve a lot of credit for making the system easy to use.

See: https://wfb.dor.state.ma.us/webfile/wsi/Index.aspx

The Federal system's support for electronic payment is, in contrast, excruciatingly painful to setup.

Now that the Federation has adopted Massachusetts healthcare architecture, I hope it will soon adopt our web/electronic tax collection system next. :)

ZOOOOOM!
Truly astounding!

I've been doing all of my taxes online for years.
I cite irreconcilable differences.

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
I wonder if you hold such similar estimation for highly efficient pick pockets.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

Something interesting happened to me last year. I was asked to do a couple training sessions for another company. I was paid $1000.00 for my time. They 1099'd it, of course. When I gave the 1099 to my tax preparer, she winced. Turned out that in addition to the regular taxes owed on that $1000.00 (which I expected,), I also had to pay a $600.00 Self employment tax. So, out of that $1000.00, how much did I get to keep? $123.00.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.
