If you were closer I'd sure hire you. I'm not at home to play it right now and my piano is the furthest out of tune it has ever been.

Well, that's not so bad. This is the first time I've been able to really tell it is.

It will remain more stable if you tune it regularly.
Twice a year, minimum.

If you let it go it takes longer to get into tune, may cost more, and it may not stay in tune as well no matter how skilled your tech is.
Blame physics.

A piano is a like box of springs.
All the materials that are under tension are gradually trying to relax.
Change the tension on a spring (be it a string, a post, a plate) and it wants to return to its former state.

When people let their pianos go untuned longer, we have to change the tension more.
Then the rubber band effect is stronger and slipping back to where it was before the tuning is more of a problem.
Again, this is even if your tech is skilled enough to get all the rotational tension out of the tuning pin and equalizes the tension in all the sections of each string.
(That's a different set of things that can prevent a piano from staying in tune, but are the tech's fault.)

Nothing is so wonderful as a stable piano that stays in tune longer between tunings.

Hey Kenny!!! Who was your first paying customer? :D

For those who attended the party, you got to play on Kenny's handiwork. I decided not to alter it from the master's touch!

Oh, my piano is incredibly stable. This is the first time you can really hear it is at all out of tune.

Kenny, I'm happy for you.

I'm doing the same thing you've done but a change of vocation has been entirely my choice. I will say though, that leaving Verizon was THE hardest thing I’ve ever done, including divorce and that was gut-wrenching.

I’m having a blast at college and am looking forward (mostly) to relocating to Texas to be closer to family. Then I will hopefully be able to get that lovely grand piano I've coveted for so long.
