Teton County, Wyoming. Home sweet home.

It was intersting to read this on the front page of our local paper today. I'm just waiting for the trickle down economic effect....and waiting...

I guess that's what happens when you average the wages of ordinary working folks with the people making $700 million a year!

Looks like we got us a dispute, here!

Every other resource I can find says it's Loudon County, VA
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

From your article: "This affluent suburb of Washington, D.C., where families take home a median $110,643 annually, tops our list of America's 25 richest counties."

From my article: "A compilation by Syracuse University shows Teton County tax returns averaging $142,048 "

edit: LD the two articles might be doing different kinds of averages...mean vs median perhaps?

That's why the median often is a better number than the average.

FR's article seems to be the highest average individual income return.

LD's article seems to be the highest average household income.

Individual vs family, basically.

All this is because the residents of Eagle (Vail) County and Pitkin (Aspen) County and the county of Jackson, Wyoming are better at hiding their income
D'oh Is Teton county where Jackson is?

Bad link, LD.

Yeah, median is a better indicator. After all, Warren Buffet can walk into a soup kitchen and raise the average net worth to 100MM.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Except, perhaps, in Loudoun County, Va., where median household incomes are higher than anywhere else in the country.
