Sorry, but that's exactly what you're doing. I can't post anything that has anything to do with anything you disagree with without your coming in with guns loaded with expletives, insults or filth.

As I said in my post above, 89, I draw the line at ripping apart the president's family. Also, with regard to the chimp comparisons to Bush, there was no racist overtone in those. That was more akin to making fun of Obama's blue lips or funny ears. The Michelle evolved from monkey joke was blatantly racist.

Mik, are you reading this thread? What did you say over at FS's about Larry's bad behavior being in the past? His stalking of me has not stopped, if you haven't noticed.
Read what I said again. Please get it right if you are going to quote me.

Well, sure I am. And sometimes you did. So did I. But that was, with the sole exception of Kathy, a very long time ago.

But Kathy, it's not just Larry on this one. You dug your own hole, and I don't see anyone else supporting you throwing the racist tag around.

Michelle made a stupid remark. Posturing in her role as his wife. Lame.
As for the comment itself .. His "home country" is America and nothing but. Frick, that's why you people voted him in.

I see. It's not okay to use the term racist when describing a new story, but it is okay to tell a poster here to growing a f&*ing brain.
Okay, I see now that I did indeed misread your post. By "with the sole exception of Kathy" you were referring to his behavior toward me, if I read you correctly now.

I really grow weary of seeing the racist card thrown every time someone disagrees with Obama. My problem with Obama has nothing to do with what color he is. It has everything to do with what kind of president he is so please knock it offf with this "racist" crap.

Yeah but you have to admit, it's kind of convenient as an argument stopper.

The person who makes such a silly comment lets you know that 1) they have no problem thinking in hyperbole and 2) they've already drawn their conclusion about you. No better indicator to opt out of a conversation not worth having if you ask me.

Why? She brought up the ape thing as being racist.

I find it ridiculous that comparing someone to an ape is considered racist.

So it's OK to mock Bush as a chimp because he is white; but it is not ok to mock Michelle as a chimp because she's black?

Whose the racist here?

Mark, you cannot be that socially unaware. You weren't born yesterday. The long tradition of white people caricaturing black people as apelike is rather well known. Heck, in my own family I remember relatives referring to blacks as babs. That's short for baboon, if you need it spelled out clearly. Arguing that we're all descended from apes is a pretty weak debater's point that is not at all germane.

The point is, the subject of this post has nothing to do with disagreeing with Obama and everything to do with demonizing him. It belongs in the same knee-jerk category as the birther allegations, the Muslim allegations, and all of the other ridiculous, confabulated allegations. As least most of the nastiness lobbed at Bush *was* a result of his actions as president - that does not appear to be true with the hatred spewed against Obama. I didn't much like Bush from the get-go, but my passionate negative view about his was precipitated by the Iraq war. With Obama, most of the vitriole is not based on any particular thing he's done. In fact, huge numbers of people who hate him don't even really know what he has done as president (with the exception of the health care bill) or realize, that in fact, most of his actions as president have been quite moderate (to the chagrine of those on the left). There is no question in my mind that the source of much of this irrational hatred is racially motivated

You have got to be absolutely ****ing kidding me. Have you completely forgotten about the election and the votes in Florida?

And just for the record what was your opinion about the voting, kathy?

Regardless what the subject of this thread is (it has nothing to do with race) it was you who had to jerk your knee and toss the race card out there and now you are doing it again.

Bull.

I don't give a rats ass what racist people think or say.

The question remains on the table.

Okay, kathy, just keep digging your hole. You can continue to insult me and every other person here (and elsewhere, for that matter) who happens to have a disagreement with Obama but you are only making a fool of yourself.

Mark, I figured you would know me well enough now to know that I believe in the evolution of humans. The question, though totally misses the point of the threadl; hence my frustration with the question.
