Probably a good thing for him considering what he would have to defend.

pre-ordering an iPad?

I didn't see what happened, but you can't miss the lolcats. And you're all invited to our house -- one cello, one piano, one guitar, otherwise BYOI, I'll cook a feast, the wine & liquor cabinet is fully stocked, we have a swimming pool, revelry abounds.

i meant that i DID make an amend to FR. I did not feel a need to make a public apology as my views of the church have not wavered. i've been typing on a netbook and my grammar has suffered from the tiny keyboard.

Well, I'm raising my coffee mug to you this morning Quirt! I'm sensing you are taking the big break from here. I hope you are living your days well. I should exit too 'cause spring is here & to me, life is so very short.

I enjoyed your posts here. Thanks Quirt!

Diary Of A Snow Shoveler...

I laughed my head off! So true, especially about the @#$%! snowplow drivers! Thanks brenda... I really needed the chuckles!
You're welcome, RR!

Quirt’s been posting steadily here for the past few years. He’s probably just taking a much needed respite from this place.

TNCR and WTF are both suffering from the same problem. It’s declining membership. Rarely does a new member join. The Board Statistics page shows that new people do register but then for some reason never post anything.

I post in bursts as I have the time to do so. When I visit here sometimes I can only scan through a thread or two and then I'm out.

I enjoy certain things here, particularly life through a different lens, so to speak. It is a strange phenomenon of the last 10 - 15 years that we have the ability to spontaneously interact with people from vastly different backgrounds. It is cool.

I agree with that.

The demographics here are very interesting.

I noticed early on that Frank B's rather ingenious third-party cookie system "recruited" people from Amazon.com and a few other sites.

I wonder how much decreased traffic to his site (if any) has impacted newcomer traffic to the extended fora?

IMO, I think the forum software switch at PW had an effect on membership here and at WTF. How many of us have yet to get used to the new format at PW? I may have posted there once since the change.

Just a thought...

Quirt will come back when he's ready. He knows he is loved here, even if he pisses me off. I may have annoyed him once or twice too. God only knows why.

Have I annoyed you, Mik?

If not, I can try harder. :hat:

Discussion groups where everybody pretty much agrees with each other hold little interest. Politeness and grown up behaviour are way over-rated.

Depends on what you're looking for from a group, methinks.

I think a mix of civility and audaciousness is just as good as it is in face to face relationships.

Knobhead.

Insults are just as good as in face to face relationships, too.

Audaciousness, eh? I'm trying to picture Minnesoooota audaciousness. Maybe that's when you put red pepper strips in the green bean casserole?
