All of which have been gleefully embraced by the current administration so where is this liberal/conservative dichotomy with these issues.

Oh. Wow, so there was a mass exodus, I guess. You know, I think it can get kinda boring talking to a small group of people who think the same way you do all the time. I think that's why some people frequent both WTF and this place. I predict the pendulum will swing the other way again at some point. Heck, maybe we'll all end up back at the piano forum. haha

I think the pendulum swung here when some posters realized they could no longer monopolize the discussion or shout down those they disagreed with. Then when certain sacred cows were openly slaughtered or at least disemboweled in some threads, others chose to exit. This has always been a somewhat rancorous place, but when the acrimony and bitterness spilled over into new areas, some people suddenly decided that they no longer liked the heat in the kitchen even though they or their friends had helped to stoke the fire.

You will notice that while a group exited for Fat Shirley's, Larry still comes back to take his usual abusive swings at Kathy. Some things never change even as a person wishes that they would while others are just the opposite.

George and Deb left because they could no longer stand the nastiness they helped create.

Got it.

What about Frank?

Al operates from the viewpoint that Kathy is as rational as the others. Which is why his view on the issue puts him only slightly less deluded than Kathy.

Hmm.
Interesting theory and I think you are correct.

I have made no comment regarding the rationality of Kathy here or elsewhere. What I did comment on was your ongoing rude and arrogant attitude toward her. I respectfully submit that no rational person could characterize your attitude as anything but that.

I said, "some people suddenly decided that they no longer liked the heat in the kitchen even though they or their friends had helped to stoke the fire." I didn't say that everyone stoked the fire. In fact, people like Deb or Frank were probably as far away from confrontational as anyone that posted here regularly. I would contend that some people they are now sharing company with in another forum are exactly the people that regularly stoked the fire. I don't find it productive for me to name names because I would be doing what I have often deplored - personalizing the arguments/discussions around the particular individuals involved. I have seldom done that and only after repeated provocation.

you're crazy as a loon Larry and you bring nothing to this place but ugliness and rancor.

But you know what? I don't mind your presence here one bit though because you bring a fascination to this place, (sort of like a car wreck) that would otherwise be much duller here.

It amazes me though, the people who put up with you, who even call you friend, people who I normally respect here, that look past your nutter personaility. I guess you are the vocalization of their inner voice. You say out loud, the things that they keep inside and believe but would never utter here. You are their mouthpiece.

This whole mass exodus is just a temporary thing though, it always is. Most of them will be back soon enough and your sorry ass forum will be back down to Griffin's nutty 2 posts a day. You guys will implode with you like minded group think.

In other words you offered up an incomplete explanation of the current situation. As far as I know the only people who have not returned from the recent fracas are George, Deb, Frank and Quirt. Jolly and lb left some time ago.
