Vince, try the 'direct link' option from Photobucket, then put it in the 'Image' box (above)

I'm guessing you tried the HTML code.

HOLY CARP!!!
Is there an 11 year old in the house? :lol2:

I pick the bottom choice of four.
I also have to click it, which highlights it, then select copy.
I used to not have to select copy, just clicking it put in onto the clipboard of my mac.

You were very close, Vince. You posted the "HTML code". Just below that on the Phoptobucket page is the "IMG Code".

Post the "IMG code" and the picture comes up.

Very cool pic! Tell the story?

Naw - you can do it yourself.

Try posting the IMG code yourself and see what happens.

That's me on top, trying to get the Canopy off. It had already been disarmed.
Pilot was O.K. Not his fault, the nose gear collapsed. I did get it to fly again. took about ninty days. Worse problem was the wing tanks. Put new one's in and had a hard time with leaks. Finely got it. I was allowed to ground start planes. Everytime I tried something on the tanks I started it up to check for leaks. Great fun.
This was at Sidi Slamain, AFB ( French) Morocco.

So do I. I had a plastic one I built from a kit as a kid. There's a real one parked in front of a VFW post on old US22 near Pittsburgh that's been there for at least 47 years, because I remember passing it on my way to college.

Yeah when our Maintenance Officer said to me "fix it, let me know if you need anything" I felt prehistoric. It may have been the longest I ever stared at a officer.
We had no hangers, all work was outside on the Tarmac. Every time it leaked fuel everything stopped while the watertankers came and washed the leaks away. I would get wet also.
Three months after it flew we sent all of these planes away and got new F-86F's.

It seems the most prehistoric among us are the ones in charge.

I always liked the F-86.
Before this tour I was stationed at Edwards AFB. One of the experimental planes we were working on was a TF86-H. It was huge, and was to be a super sonic two seat trainer. I was lucky enough to get a two hour flight in the back seat. The plane never made it into production. North American Aviation. gave me a little gold lapel F86 pin for being a "Mach Buster". Geez, that was beter then a pay raise.

There was a former USN boneyard in my home town when I was growing up. By the time I was in high school, the only two planes left were an HU-16 pigeon roost Albatross and an F-86L.

With that radome on the front I didn't recognize it as a Saber. I read the model off the ID plate in the cockpit to figure it out.

That's a new one. The model the USAF had with the Radome was the F-86D, The L pictured was most likely a little different for the USN. I could be remembering wrongly but I thought the Navy called the 86 a F4D.
Maybe they never changed the ID. in this one.
Notice the Rocket launcher on it's belly. That was useually up. only came into that position when it fired. blink of an eye fast.

An F4D would be a Phantom.
