Weird. Very distinct but not huge. A slow rolling feeling. Very disorienting! |

Are you OK? Did your pets act strangely before you felt the quake? |

We felt it pretty good down in San Diego - lasted 30 to 45 seconds. House was rolling around - got my daughter out of the shower! Wonder where it was centered. |

No, Kenny, we just had one in Phoenix. Actually it was a 6.9 in Baja California -- http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsus/Quakes/ci14607652.php I had just sat down after Easter lunch, I felt some movement, and I saw the TV shaking, the water lapping in the pool. I never felt an earthquake in Phoenix before. |

We're okay. No damage. Nothing fell. It was mild here, but it may have been huge with an epicenter far away. Jose said the dogs sat up right before it and looked at him with their ears up with a HUH? look on their faces. |

6.9 in Mexicali. Our cat is freaked out - she jumped off the bed and I found her hiding in a corner of the couch downstairs. Took me a while to persuade her to come out. Edited by 1hp, Apr 4 2010, 02:56 PM.

Very cool website, IT. Did you report your experience via the "Did you feel it?" link? |

I had consumed one glass of wine. Suddenly I felt as if I had consumed 6. I really thought that for some reason the alcohol was hitting me hard. It was a disorienting loss of balance kind of sensation. Then I looked around and noticed hanging light fixtures were swaying and I put 2 and 2 2gether. |

Feeling another small one. 5.1 west of Imperial - about 90 miles form here. Also felt a small one about 10 minutes ago. Edited by 1hp, Apr 4 2010, 03:21 PM.

I experienced a similar thing to Kenny. No one else in the house felt it; not even The Housebound, who was standing in front of me. Go figure... |

And another one! [edit: looks like this one was a 5.4 in the same area near Mexicali. And the earlier one is now listed as a 7.2 - Haiti was a 7.0 in comparison] Edited by 1hp, Apr 4 2010, 04:03 PM.

I know what you mean. I just had a strawberry belini so I was thinking it was the prosecco -- but then I definitely saw the swing-arm mounted TV shaking slightly. |

Yeah, I hear the latest reports upgraded it from 6.9 to 7.2. Hope nobody was hurt near the epicenter. Hey if it was centered in Mexico can we sue them?

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
|
The epicenter is in the desert, but fairly near the southern edge of the Imperial Valley agricultural area. Shouldn't be a whole lot of people too close. |

Oo boy. We're gonna be in the San Fran area for 10 days in April. I wondered if we timed this badly.

Yeah, my sister-in-law called to tell us about the quake. Very matter of fact tone. She's in Los Angeles. I guess when you're used to the smaller ones, they just don't register all that much. |

I've no idea what an earthquake feels like and would rather not experience that. Glad you're safe y'all. |
