HOLY CARP!!!
If you're ever looking for a source for phenomenal African-American gospel arrangements, or if you'd like to schedule a traveling gospel group, or if you'd like to have a guest conductor/instructor work with your choir, or... well, you get the idea - look into Dr. Raymond A. Wise. I just wrapped up a class that he taught, and I wish everyone in the world could take that class - for both the content and to get to know this amazingly talented guy. You can find out more about him and his organization at http://www.raiseonline.com You can find scads of gospel choirs either being conducted by him, or singing his arrangements, or both. In addition to being a musical genius and a great educator, he's also an especially gifted minister. Sometimes the question comes up, who pastors a pastor? For the last few months, he's been mine in the course of teaching this class, and I consider myself unbelievably blessed to have had that opportunity.

Okay, stump speech over. If you're in a position to need his kind of stuff, check him out. I'm just sayin'...

one of the angels
music is important..

editted to add:

my old parish church in my old neighborhood hosted the world's best gospel choir. oh they had some energy. It spawned some great local singers, Geneva Price, Angela Hachenbach.. the organ i used to play didn't work any more. Their wonderful energy and voices outsang it anyway.
