Gee thanks quirt. You know why everyone calls you a pathetic little twerp? Because of posts like this. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

And I'm just pointing out to everyone that you're a scumbag apologist. Maybe more, but that would be just speculating. We could, for example, speculate about why you defend child molesters. No need to go down that road, though. We have ample evidence that you're a scumbag apologist. Whew, I'm glad we got that over with. |

Copper: it's hard to realize as you get older that people you've been taught to trust with your immortality are really just more or less an organized child sex ring. It's a devastating betrayal to realize that people you confess your transgressions to have transgressions that far exceed any wrong you could perpetrate. So, the gut reaction is to deny it and lash out at people like me or Quirt. |

The priest got suspended yesterday (article from NYT). The big story is that he continued to work around boys and girls for 30 years after his conviction. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/16/world/europe/16church.html |

That's the fourth time you've written about that opinion in this thread alone! Wow, what if it did matter? |

Wait, I'm confused. Is he a scumbag, or an apologist for scumbags (which was my interpretation of scumbag apologist, I suppose that it could also mean that he's a scumbag that is also an apologist, but in the context of the thread, I took it as an apologist for scumbags.)? I suppose he could be a scumbag and an apologist for other scumbags as well. |

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to clarify. In this case, he's both a scumbag and an apologist. He's always a scumbag. In this case, because of the subject matter and his stance and his reflexive defenses of the Catholic Church and attacks against those who point out the Church's failings, he's also an apologist. Since I don't think the entire Church is filled with scumbags, he's an apologist for both scumbags and non-scumbags. I hope that clarifies things. And thanks again for asking. |

Sure thing, of course, this opens up some more questions. Why scumbag? Why not scumcan or scumjar. Both would be much better at holding scum. Is a scumbag paper or plastic? I would think that if it was paper, it wouldn't hold up well at long, before the paper was overly saturated with scum and would start leaking. |

One has to wonder why you are so very angry about people criticizing child molesters. Why you feel the need to pursue the subject so vigorously. It's almost as if you have a personal interest. |

Are you certain they are child molesters? Copper may honestly and rightly believe otherwise. He may believe that they are simply ephebophilic; it is possible, given the infiltration of such types into the hierarchy between the 50's and 80's. |
