Happy birthday, dude.

As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

and treated myself to a visit to Home Depot and Lowes.
Funny how at our age, this is a treat. :D

I love dropping in those places, walking around, looking at stuff and finding something I didn't know I needed and now can't live without.

I usually go there by myself. Tried it once with Plays in tow and she was bored to tears.

Ha! I had my wife at HD and got to show her some countertops and a front door I had in mind. She did get excited about the front door and she also saw a double oven that was pretty cool - an LG one with blue enamel inside, a nice ball-bearing sliding bottom rack, hidden heating element in the bottom and a touch pad screen with a bunch of recipes programmed right in. Also a second oven/stove we saw that had a tiny bit smaller big oven and then a small mail slot oven on top - the entire unit would not take up any more space than a standard unit.

However, I was pushing it and Cathy wanted to go home so I had to go to Lowes myself. I bought another euphorbia (spurge). I also thought to look for a way to get more light in the garage - we have two bulbs in there and because I have a bunch of hanging racks for storage, there's a bit of shadow below. I looked around for ways to add more light and ended up getting a simple "double socket" adapter to double the light bulbs. It makes a big difference. I did pass on getting a bendable, foot-long light extension that would allow me to drop a light down to get more light below the racks - they were about $18 a piece. Pretty cool thing though - very good if you have an outdoor security light that you need to move out a bit to shine right where you want it.

I wish! My motorcycle bug is bugging me again. Saw the coolest retro Yamaha at the auto show in January. But it was over 1300cc which is twice as big as I want.

Happy belated B-day!
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!
