When school drives me insane, my weight drops. I'm down to 225, the original weight I acheived when I went down from 305. I've eaten at McD's three times over the last 3 days but the pounds just seem to melt off. Wierd. |

Depends on a number of things. How much you're eating each day, when, how much sleep, if there are any drugs in your system (including caffeine, nicotine, etc.), stress levels... the list goes on. I wouldn't count on that spontaneous weight loss to be a long term trend. |

I Owe It All To John D'Oh

Stress is a great weight reducer, because it pumps up your metabolism. Take a look at women who are having relationship troubles with a long-term relationship, particularly if they have kids, particularly if they have to change their life circumstances (where they live or getting a new job) ... their weight tends to go either up or down dramatically. |
| It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010. | |

Aaah ... exam stress. How I remember my spring skinny time. Stress. It has to do with hormone surges, like with cortisol, and with neurotransmitters, e.g. adrenaline. These will play with your body & it's fat. Add into the mix caffeine, nicotine, lack of sleep, the study diet, etc. and SHORT TERM you'll lose weight. But, there's a rebound effect afterwards with the cortisol and high glycemic foods. So don't gorge to celebrate John. Or hey, just ask George. I've no credibility re physiology anymore. |

McD's is a diet. Technically. A bad diet, but a diet nonetheless!
