There are plenty of good nefarious reasons to want and to have aggregated data.

FIFY.
If you're going to fix that you forgot to put something on:

No doubt, were he still around, you'd be accusing James Madison of wearing tinfoil as well:

“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation.”

No, a quick scanning of his portraits does not show any images of James Madison in hats at all. Dolly Madison is a different story, but I'm quite happy to leave old James hatless.

The question, of course, is whether this is the sort of gradual and silent encroachment that he was thinking about ... or whether eavesdropping on people's conversations in the name of national security might have been more what he had in mind. I tend to think the latter, rather than the former.

I remember when he first showed up here, and all he did was follow me around trying to slap me, then ending his posts with "Giggity".

Ah yes, I was mistaken. Thank you for correcting me, as it made me take the time to look back at your posting history.

You didn't just follow me around trying to slap me, you followed me and IT both around trying to slap us, all while posting like a 14 year old.

But if you want to believe that you've completed your transition from obnoxious sock to legitimacy, you be my guest.

Of course. Especially phone tapping. And GPS surveillance using cell phones. And RFID chips. I am sure that is all somewhere in the Federalist papers.
The dogma lives loudly within me.
