Apparantly he has to thumb wrestle a girl today at recess. If he loses, he has to love her back forever and marry her.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

HOLY CARP!!!
That's how I found my wife.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

High stakes indeed! What does he get if he wins?
I cite irreconcilable differences.

She'll stop nagging him

Best of luck with that one, buddy.

So basically marriage if he loses.

It seems that the thumb wrestling match was called off due to Luke running away from the young lady in the schoolyard. While we may never know how his thumb wrestling skills match up to the girl's, we do know that he is at least fleet enough of foot and sharp enough of wit to evade his doom.

For now.

Should increase his chance of surviving Z-Poc.

I think I was about Luke's age when I chased my beloved around the playground for several days, threatening to kiss him.

Poor thing was so distraught he ended up in tears and the teacher called my mum.

Sheesh.

Come to think of it, when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, there was a girl in class who followed me around quite often, like, for a whole semester. I tried various tricks to avoid her, all to no avail. She was not nasty and I was not rude; I don't think I hurt her feelings; no one gets the teachers involved. Though looking back, I wish I were kinder to her, may be talk to her more or something; after all, despite all the awkwardness, she meant well (I think).

... he has to thumb wrestle a girl ...
Is that what they're calling it these days?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.
