In a dramatic turnaround, the right-wingers are now trying to claim Lennon as one of their own!

Sorry, IT - it was a nice try, but you're stuck with Country and Western and Praise music - we get The Beatles.

HOLY CARP!!!
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

Oh yes, sounds very much like tea partier.

Ok, but we get these guys.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

A "brotherhood of man", "sharing all the world" will not happen because of governments or socialism. It will only happen through freedom and self-determination.

Unfortunately, it won't even really happen through those. We flawed humans just aren't up for the task, no matter what vehicle we try. Ultimately, the brotherhood of man is only possible with recognition of the Fatherhood of God.

No, that's just what sells. Obviously he wasn't personally disposed to sharing his apartment at the Dakota with the homeless. He was a true capitalist.

Speak for yourself Dewey. I don't believe in the notion that people are inherently flawed. Religions on the other hand. . .

Not sure if John Lennon can do it by himself, but if he can start by working to put his songs, performances, recordings, etc. into the public domain. :)

As a good Lancastrian boy, like myself, Mr. Lennon would have known better than to waste perfectly good tea in appalling displays of wastage. Tea is for drinking. Throw away your awful beer if you want to make a statement.

You do not know John Lennon Ax.

In that interview he made that point perfectly clear.

We make "gods" out of people in all sorts of roles.

That is what he said is wrong.

Including making a "god" out of him.

I'm afraid that the idea of John Lennon and Sarah Palin on the same stage preaching to middle-America is a little hard to take seriously.

On the other hand, I'd pay good money to see Sarah drop some of Lennon's acid. Imagine the William Shatner follow-ups!
