HOLY CARP!!!
Vancouver, when the sun is shining and there's a fresh dusting of snow on the mountains, is a beautiful place. I forget that sometimes.

Even waiting for the ferry in the bleak dank concrete abyss couldn't get me down.
Love this ferry employee's little container garden (at the bottom of the pictures, sorry it's so dark). All in random buckets and pails, all donated/found by the roadside plants, he's built it up over the years, working on it during his lunch breaks. A little green oasis. You can't easily see it, but for us that know it's there (it's technically in an 'employee only' area), it's fun to watch it's progress. Probably against all sorts of ferry regulations, but I'm guessing the higher ups turn a blind eye because there'd be a massive outcry if it ever had to be taken apart. And I know those rings (made with electrician's tape, I believe) are against all sorts of regulations!

Spring is creeping its way here too.

HOLY CARP!!!
Man, sue, I love where you live too.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

+1, and ditto about the container garden. That's very cool.
I cite irreconcilable differences.
