Who knows, Dewey, what inspired this guy to do his dirty deeds. It's all conjecture at this point. I think it's pretty obvious, though, that the hot headed rhetoric of people like Beck is dangerous. His frothing at the mouth style really reminds me of an American version of Hitter. Just as Hitler did, he's feeding into a the worst inclinations of a large group of people in bad economic times who are feeling very disenfranchised and are anxious to find a scape goat for all their woes. It's ugly, scary stuff.

The way you twist what Beck is saying is scary stuff to me.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

I bet the lefties here could comfortably replace xxxxxx with Mr. Bush.

I bet the righties here could comfortably replace xxxxxx with Mr. Obama.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

Should we censor him then? I mean, since he's like Hitler and everything.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

It certainly is.

No, it isn't conjecture. The man was a left-wing extremist who went over the edge. You may wonder what pushed him over the edge, but his ideology is not a matter of conjecture. And it's ridiculous to try to turn the spotlight off of the shooter's real political agenda by trying to blame people whose views are completely opposite of his. The entire argument - and I'm being kind in calling it that - is intellectually insulting and shameless.
