US sending more ships and missile defense systems to allies in middle east

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

The birth of terrorism.
Hardly. The Irish were blowing up pubs long before the old Ayatollah was in power.

Not even the beginning of middle Eastern terrorism - militant Zionists blew up the British in what was then called Palestine in 1946, killing 91 people.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

No, I believe he went by the name, Ned; although following the war he may have clowned around as either Larry of Lambeth or Harry of Hounslow.

That's nothing compared to Ferdinand and Isabella's reign of terror against the Moors and Jews of the Iberian peninsula in the late 15th Century.

That wasn't really terrorism - we were just keeping our eye in, in case the Spanish ever managed to summon up another Armada that wasn't totally overcome by God being on their side so much He blew a little too hard.

Yes it is, however the reader is advised to approach it as literature rather than history. If you want a good biography about Lawrence: John E. Mack's A Prince of Our Disorder: The Life of T. E. Lawrence , Boston, Little, Brown, 1976 and Jeremy Wilson's, Lawrence of Arabia: The Authorised Biography of T.E. Lawrence, 1989 are recommended.

Well, with Freddie Young's cinematography, and Maurice Jarre's music, you could hardly call that terrorism.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D
