I love regional and nostalgic candies. I introduced IT to the Twin Bing candy bar when we were back home last year. I don't think he was so impressed, but I still like them.

I've never had the Idaho Spud or Valomilk.

I used to love twin bings but they could have done some work on appearance...

Never had any of them, although I've seen a couple of the brands. We were not allowed to have candy bars growing up, and I never ate one until I was in High School.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

I was wondering if anyone would recognize the Chick-o-Sticks. I think they are still made.

Yes, they are . . . made in Texas.

One of my favorites as a kid isn't made anymore. Banana flips -- a sponge cake (like a Twinkie) in the form of a taco shell, filled with banana cream. Major sugar rush.

edit -- Oh, Nickles Bakery in Ohio still makes them.

I doubt I could stand the sugar rush these days.

You are sooooo deprived.

Meh, those are all American.

There's a proper old fashioned sweet shop in Chester has the rows of jar on the shelf and you can buy a half pound of sherbet bonbons and they'll sell it to you in a paper twist, and licorice pipes, sugar mice, turkish delight, proper toffee that comes with a little silver hammer...

It's a BAD place to go.

*Insert plump smiley*
Pfft.
