Maybe naming him Rimbaud wasn’t such a good idea.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

So, modern architecture is anti-family? anti-human?

Seems like kind of a cheap shot, kind of cynical.

Like all humor this holds up a mirror and we are surprised.

Uhhh.... yeah. It is. Read Tom Wolf's "From Bauhaus to Our House" or E Michael Jones "Living Machines".

I don't see it as cynical -- rather the humor is found in popping the bubble of pretentiousness that modernists have.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

Hilarious.
I can see my hubby & I sitting around, getting pie-eyed p*ssed, flipping through AD, dreaming up these things. But we're weird. We like doing that sort of stuff.

Lots of modernist furniture doesn't look very comfortable to me. Low arms, no arms, no pillows, etc.

However, that reading nook, while a huge waste of space IMO, does look kind of comfy. I'd rather have a hammock.

Haha! We have those chairs in our kitchen. They were a hand-me-down from my in-laws who were very into modern furniture a couple decades ago. They are pretty uncomfortable but they make me sit straight and look great with the table I tiled.
