thanks folks - it's certainly flattering, but I still don't see it!
The person told that they look like someone else never sees it, even when everyone else can.
Yep that's a good point. We're intimately familiar with our own faces and subtle differences loom large to our eyes. But others see the "big picture" more easily.

My friends in high school told me I look like honeycut from Mash.

Rock on.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

I don't look like anyone famous, but I always get told I look like "someone they know." In my teens, I tanned a lot in the summer and I was told I looked like an American Indian. In grad school, my Turkish classmates said I looked just like their Turkish friends "back home." And I have met three look-a-likes in my lifetime already. We all look like the girl next door. It must have been a mold that was handy and in easy reach of Mother Nature.

I get told that a lot too, Brenda; that I remind people of someone...

And in her younger days, my mom looked like a brunette version of Tammy Wynette.

My dad looked like George Harrison back in the 70s*. :) In the 80s, he dressed as Father Guido Sarduci (sp?) for Hallowe'en and the resemblance was uncanny. I figure with those genetics, I'm lucky I can go outside without a paper bag. ;)

*his brother was a dead ringer for John Lennon.

now THAT is funny, dol! :)

In my youth, people often said I looked like Jean Harlow. Since she only lived to be 26, we'll never know if that trend would have continued. David, in our wedding pictures, is Dr. Zhivago with blue eyes...which was an odd but fabulous effect :) He looked up pics of the older Omar Sharif for facebook, but told me he couldn't do it because Sharif looks like Foster Brooks now, and he was afraid the resemblance might still be there :)

The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.
