HOLY CARP!!!
Another reject, but an educational pic.
The rock on the bottom is 2.26 carat.
The two on top are each about 0.7 carat.

Those metal settings (called full-bezel) really make a rock look larger even though you know there is metal there.

Wow! Fantastic, Kenny. My favorite is the clothespin shot but I also like the restaurant pic. Are the first few shot in a flower? Awesome. If you ever need to supplement your income you could probably get some commercial photography work.

Lenses have to be really clean to get black blacks when such intense specular highlights are present.

HOLY CARP!!!
Some got their color from colored objects placed between the rock and the lens.
Diamonds reflect like a mirror.

Like this one. Posted Image

HOLY CARP!!!
The ones with blurred colored backgrounds had colored stuff, like toothbrushes, placed behind the rock far enough back to be thrown out of focus.

Then in some, like this one, all of the color you see is from the rock itself splitting up sunlight in to its component colors.

I loved that rice shot, what a neat idea.

What is going on here? It looks like two rocks glued together... (Is there a prize for silliest question in this thread?)
Pfft.

Sue, the "ring" on the right is not a real ring.
It's just a temporary springie thingie rock holder. (Lest you think we have no class.)

Have you been tempted to try and learn how to cut them or set them? (Or other stones)
Pfft.

It would be interesting and I'd enjoy it but I suspect it would be expensive to buy the equipment.
Besides I don't really have time for a new hobby.

There are diamond lovers?

What precedes that?

Platinum lovers? Gold, then silver? Where do you start? Pewter?

And how does one achieve a higher ranking? Is there an applicaion process?

(It has to do with one's kazzoo technique.)

Hey Kenny, beautiful photos.
Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D
