On the hooking forum today, Gene sent you a note. Do some googling and you will find out that Gene is a very accomplished hooking instructor in the US. He has written books on it, and he regularly teaches at rug camps and schools. How cool that he is offering to scout around for a wool cutter for you!

Meeting some cool folks, you are, Bernard.

Been away from here for a while Brenda. "Seeing" you there made me think of checking in over here. ... You know... Just the other day I was reading an article by Gene Sheppard in the Nov./Dec. issue of Rug Hooking magazine. I think I've visited his blog before too. When he replied, it took me a minute to realize that it was he! RDH is a nice site. Some of the photos are AWESOME. Thanks for directing me to it.

I've never met Gene, but he seems like such a nice guy. Now I am even more inclined to think so.

Something else to watch for used on eBay: Gene has two DVDs about rug hooking. I've seen them come up for sale occasionally.

I'm not surprised that Gene likes the Townsend cutter. It is the BMW of cutters. I've heard good things about the Bliss cutters, too, but they only hold one blade at a time. That's inconvenient for me, because I like to use multiple widths of wool in the same project all the time now. I'd waste a lot of time swapping cutter blades all the time.

It was fun to hear what he likes to use.
