Is there some shortage of pine nuts or something? It used to be the Spanish variety were ~$20 per pound but the Chinese variety were only ~$10.

Now the Chinese pine nuts are more expensive than the Spanish pine nuts. $23.99 a pound here today.

WTF?!?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

No clue. Last time I bought they were like $15 a pound.

Do you have access to Costco? I think the prices there are lower, but I have to admit it's been a while since I checked.
Let us begin anew, remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness.

That's where I buy them. For years now.

HOLY CARP!!!
I read somewhere, recently, about an impending shortage. Due to stupid greedy harvesting, or something wiping out the trees used. Global warming, maybe.

We make something trendy, inexpensive, and then we wipe it out.
