while I was grating the cheese for the fondue tonight, the cheese block cracked, which caused my hand to slip. My thumb knuckle went down onto the grater and .... we may have had a bit of extra protein added to the cheese.

Shhhhh .............. it was all the same color, so I have no way of knowing. I quick put a band-aid on the knuckle, so there was no blood in the cheese.

Ouch! I've seen some pretty nasty kitchen accidents, some involving cheese graters. Hope it was nothing serious.

Ack!

I would throw that cheese out, even if I had to go buy more.

I would not be able to eat it, knowing there could be skin (even if it was my own) in it.

The cheese in a fondue is cooked, bits o finger flesh will be too. No harm done. It happens all the time.

Think of all those pizzas you've eaten in your life.....all that grated cheese...... :hat:

Oh, poor Riley! I've traumatized him with my confession.

:lol2:

Aqua and Riley, it was really tiny, just a little nip from the side of my knuckle.

Riley, I showed it to my daughter and told her what happened, but I waited until well after dinner to do so. She is not happy with me. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Have I mentioned lately what fun it can be to be the mom?

Torture can take many forms.

It's not whether it's cooked or not that I'm thinking about.

I don't think about things like that. The issue here is knowing what's there.

When I started dating my wife her mother wanted to have me over for dinner. She had Carol ask me what my favorite dish was so she could fix it. I naturally told her it was meat loaf. When I got there she had also fixed all my favorite sides and was really trying to please me. When I took the first bite of the meatloaf I felt something in it and reached in my mouth and pulled out, with everyone watching me, a bandaid. She just about died. She had a small knick on her finger that had healed and the scab had already come off but she still put a bandaid on it and it had come off without her noticing it when she mixed the meatloaf.

Now, see, if Brenda breast-fed her daughter, the daughter would have sucked dead skin tissues off Brenda before. She, and probably every breast-fed child, should reflect on that a little bit to put things in perspective. :)

I predict Riley just got grossed out *again*. :lol2:

Yes, I breastfed my daughter. I may share this notion of yours with her, or maybe not. She's still a little freaked out by the knuckle thing.
