HOLY CARP!!!
Is a great company!

I received a Bodum French Press Coffee Maker for Christmas from my Brother-In-Law. :woot:

Posted Image

I was washing it Sunday evening after returning home from the Christmas celebration at the in-laws.

I emptied the hot soapy water by turning it upside down over the sink and the glass carafe fell out of the handle and smashed into a million pieces in the sink. :(

I didn't realize that it was separate from the handle/surround.

I emailed the company as I was having difficulty finding the correct part on their website and told them what happened.

Even though the glass carafe is not covered under warranty, a FedEx truck just delivered a new glass carafe! :woot:

No charge.

Good for you, Mark! You'll like it. We have a couple, and I use them for loose leaf tea, too.

He could call it the Freedom Press, but that unfortunately sounds a bit like something that white people with dreadlocks (or possibly strange wild-eyed men with a private army in Montana) would call their newspaper.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

It is nice to hear about a positive customer support experience.

I have a number of Bodum teapots and love them.

On the coffee front, I have an Aeropress coffee pot. Sort of a French press concept, but with a paper filter.

Uses a lot of grounds but makes fabulous coffee. In our household, one cup is Aeropress. Multiple cups, Chemex.

We're a low tech household.

John! We are a Chemex family as of December (hubby's birthday.) We really like it. It's very smooth, with no grounds at the bottom of the cup. The only problem is that we are drinking coffee even more now!

Problem? Problem? We don't have no stinking problem!!! I'll have to find that link for the paper written by Dr. Juan Valdez about the health benefits of drinking eight cups a day. :lol2:

The Chemex is great, isn't it? We've tried side by side tastings (Krups electric vs Chemex) and the Chemex comes out the winner every time.

Hubby asked for one for his birthday. I was skeptical. I'm sold on it now.

Chemex FTW!
