It's still in our Netflix queue, it will reach the top eventually. We just watched a French thriller called Tell No One.

Great documentary!
The way the event seems to have affected the people around him is remarkable too.

(edit: video might be a spoiler, says Kenny)

Unreal.. Talk about Risk Hunger..

BTW didn't some famous high-wire walker fall and die doing something similar in recent years? I think he was a fairly old guy at the time.

What a strange way to enjoy life.

Was Tell No One good? I have the Netflix Watch Instantly and it's hard to tell which movies or TV shows are really good just by the little blub they give you.

I've started watching some real clunkers that I thought would be good according to the write up, and I'm sure I've missed some really good movies for the same reason.

On that same note, the German foreign film Four Minutes was good.

Actually I'm not sure y'all will enjoy Man on Wire a much as I did, especially since Phj posted the climax of the 90 minute film.
It is not a action-packed flick.
It is more of a slow moving, art house quirky thing.

I saw it not knowing anything about it whatsoever.
This is how I prefer to see films.
At first they show massive pieces of WTC hanging from a crane so I assumed the film was about the attacks.

I think not mentioning the attacks was a good call.
That would have been gratuitous.
I doubt this film would have been made had the attacks had not occurred since there would be less interest in all things WTC.

I am always leery about making recommendations, but both MS and I really enjoyed Tell No One.

Very gripping storyline, and the cinematography is quite beautiful.

The story starts out a bit slow, and it takes a while to figure out what the relationships are so there is some confusion.

Toward the end we had to stop and recap what we knew so far since it is a complicated story (I despise plot holes) , but in retrospect the whole story hangs together and is very well written and acted.

Waiting for Hollywood to redo it and muck it up.

The dogma lives loudly within me.

Yes, the cinematography was lovely, not expected in a thriller. There were a couple of very interesting dialogues, really enjoyed those as you don't hear that kind of writing very often these days. 93% on rottentomatoes.

This person was probably the most egotistic, arrogant jerks that I ever had to deal with during my Lincoln Center days. We did an event with him in conjunction with the French consulate. The crew chief of the outdoor staff commented "If he goes down, we won't need an ambulance, we'll need a squeegee."

I don't think I'll watch this film.
Regards,
Chris
