I've never really listened to either. They'll both be in town soon and was thinking of going to one of them. Who would you choose? |

Depends on what you like, music wise. Both are excellent. TSO will be more rock oriented (think guitars, driving beat), but with a full orchestra. Mannheim Steamroller has a more progressive sound than your typical symphony, but they're not as in your face. If I had to choose, I'd try to find a way to see both! And if I could only choose one, I'd go with Mannheim, but only because I've seen TSO more recently. |

Mannheim Steamroller: I've seen them three times, love them. I have about four of their C.D.'s. |

I would go see Transsiberian Steamroller. That would be some show. |

HOLY CARP!!!

Been listening to Mannheim Steamroller since about 1979. Fresh Aire III was the first album I bought in 79. Great group. Transsiberian Orch is good too. But I prefer the Steamroller probably because I am more familiar with them. |

For some reason Mannheim Steamroller make me think of Grand Funk Railroad. A quick Google tells me that I'm quite a long way off base. I tend to have a rather visceral reaction to Christmas music. |
