***warning FOUL LANGUAGE alert***** I just watched Jon NYC's video...the comedian who thought it was so fcuking funny that he was fcuking broke... Yeah..well get this. Mrs. FR and I re-financed our house a few months back. The mortgage company we had then was Taylor Bean and Whittaker. So they hold a sh!tload of $$ in escrow to pay property taxes. When you refinance they give that money back to you (since it's already fcuking yours). That's in ESCROW....it's not supposed to be...Fcuking...Fcuk!! So we get a check for $2000.00 and change...which we fcuking need to pay our fcuking property taxes...and yesterday the fcuking check gets sent back...insufficient funds!!! It's Fcuking escrow money assholes!!!! So my wife calls Taylor Bean and Whittaker...waits over an hour on hold and some fcucking fcuk tells her TB&W is in chapter 11 bankruptcy and their assets have been frozen by the gov't. What the good gracious fcuk?? What about my fcuking escrow? Fcuking gone...never see it.... $2000....what am I supposed to pull that outta my ass? Bouce a check to the county treasurer and tell them to suck balls and talk to TB&W? I bet that'll work like a rubber with a hole in it. This is the first time I've ever been ripped off by a lending institution bunch of bloodsucking weasel dicks. It feels just as bad as if someone mugged me, beat my ass and stole it right from my wallet. Those fcuking maggot eating little beanbag fcukers. Legal recourse? Travel to Florida and take 'em to court there. Yeah right...that's really worth it. Fcuking fcuk. So that's my rant. Sorry for all the fcuking swears. I hate feeling helpless and fcuked. Welcome to the recession. ****End foul language alert****** |

Yeah, we stick to a budget, have been responsible with no late payments and such... There goes a chucnk of our savings. I wonder where that $2000 actually goes? It becomes a number on a computer screen and that's it... Bogus. |

Thanks you guys...I appreciate it, I don't like ranting very much. It is really strange to be ripped off so...well...quietly by a faceless corporation. |

Ranting feels GOOD!! It's like discovering a Sam Kinison gene inside of yourself that you never knew you had...

Thanks, Ax. I have little faith in that. It would cost us more to fight this than it would to take the $2000 hit. Sadly that website I just linked had 25 pages of similar complaints. Theft is theft....even if it comes in a neatly packaged envelope with a crisp corporate logo. |

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. | |

Fortunately, no. We did just pay off our house and received an escrow refund check which didn't bounce. But our mortgage was held by a big name bank and didn't get sold to a mortgage servicer, thank god. |

Sorry FR. This really sucks. |
| As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good? | |

One more thought just occurred to me: Is the lost of escrowed money tax deductible? Any accountant or tax attorney know the answer? |

i am very sorry to hear this, FR, it is appalling. I would certainly contact your county tax assessor with documentation and see if there is some avenue to get a waiver or something. |

Mmmmmmm, pie!
|
I thought money held in escrow had to be put in a special escrow account, and that even the government couldn't seize that since it isn't the mortgage company's money. It's also a criminal offense for escrow money to not be there, but in this situation I don't know that that would apply.. just thinking out loud... |

That's why I'm not too keen on trusting them faceless corporations if I can help it. Wayy too impersonal, especially if there's a problem. And this one's a big problem. Really sorry to hear that, man. There's got to be something you can do? Talk to the county maybe?
