How about the Grand Concourse? It's one of Chuck Muir's restaurants and is in a fantastic setting, the old Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad station across the river from downtown. I can always be persuaded to go the The Church Brew Works, but I thought than other folks might want something different. Other possibilities might be the Carlton House, Lydia's in the Strip, UUBU6 on the South Side slopes, Angkor on Noblestown Road (another favorite with me and my wife), the new Hofbräuhaus at the South Side Works, Mitchell's in the Waterfront, or quite a few other places. If people indicate what sort of food they want, if a downtown location is preferred or if something near but not in downtown would work, if beer, wine, cocktails, etc. are important, if upscale or economical is important, and so on I'd be happy to make specific suggestions and/or arrangements for this event. Those who know Pittsburgh should feel free to chime in with additional suggestions. We can do a poll if we know what the poll should include.

Not really. I just hate driving into Pittsburgh with my Truck.

Hey, maybe I will have a different vehicle by then.

Haven't been to Lydias, but I think I've heard good things about it.

I'll ponder this some, too. Might be nice to be able to walk to a second destination for after-dinner coffee. If it's nice out, sit outisde--that kind of thing.

Do people ever go to the Blue Note anymore and listen to jazz? If so, is it too loud to really talk? Trying to think music/Pittsburgh/talking.

My experience with piano/forum gatherings is that its the company, the people, that are most important.

Everything else doesn't matter that much. So just pick any place that's easy for people to go to and it'll be fine. :)

Grand Concourse or Mitchell's would work well for us.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Yeah, its about catching up and gossiping about those not present :hat:

Any place where we can sit in a group, have some drinks and munchies served, and not too loud to talk.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

If we go to the Grand Concourse, I demand that Jennifer Bealls be present, reprising her lobster-eating scene in Flashdance.
