Since Monday I've had a whopping 5-6 hours of work. Friday will bring a cheque of no more than $400, and the outlook for work is even bleaker than the last two weeks. Okay, God, I hear you. Don't know what I'd do all day if it weren't for you guys.

You'd likely have time to look for work... ![]() But seriously, good luck, NAK. I had a four hour interview yesterday for a job that sounds like great fun working with very cutting edge stuff. And it's right up my alley, 2 miles from home. Here's hoping. |

I hope it works out. It's rare to find good work close to home. Good luck. |

The Olympic Village? Oh, our company kicked ass on that site - too much, it would seem. Our end of the work is practically finished, so they've pulled everybody off site that doesn't need to be there. There's not much else in the lineup at this point. Not for repair crews, anyway. I'm not the only one at the company who's hurting for money, either, so it's not like management is playing favorites. But I haven't invested enough in this job to put up with 15 hours per week. |

I ahven't had a 'job' in a long time, but it's the best option. The indie business is just not coming in. |

HOLY CARP!!!
|
Good luck in finding something new and exciting NAK. I am so happy that I created "a product" 13 years ago. Although my two "bread & butter" customers are still going strong and they have been with me for about 12 years now, as the product's market grows it just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. The "b&b" customers are temporary employment agencies. They do cycle but even in tough times they do well. |

Sorry to hear that, NAK. But it's pouring now, maybe a few days of rain will get some leaks happening around town.

We only get those on sunny days. Strangely enough, most of the leak calls we've had lately have had nothing to do with the roofs. Plumbing problems, etc.

Thanks for the good wishes. My business has done just fine. The problem is there is nothing .. not a thing.. in the pipeline, and the sales cycle tends to be a long one. |

HCA just sold three hospitals in Louisiana (Avoyelles, Winnfield and Oakdale). The new owners will NOT be keeping the HIS (Meditech) because it's too costly. Ditto Sunquest and Orchard. But somebody's going to get it.... |

I do work for Sunquest and have worked with Meditech which was very cost efficient. I wonder what they can find that is less costly than those? Orchard I am not familiar with..lab system? I guess they may be Community out of Nashville. I don't know if they use A4 or Keane/First Coast or what. |

Ok.. I looked. Orchard is an LIS. Do you work with it Jolly? How does it compare to CoPath, etc? I work with CoPath and blood bank systems a lot. |

Not that familiar with Orchard (other than their advertising). I've talked to a few folks that have used it, and they say the interface is "friendly" and intuitive. CoPath is ok, but if you're the guy that worked up SQ's immunohematology package, Dante has created a whole new ring of Hell - just for you! The computer in my broom closet currently has Siemens, CoPath and SQ...I know Meditech from previous and other current employment...

BTW, the group that bought those hospitals goes by the name of "Progressive". Small outfit, just now getting into acute care...has some old Christus hands in leadership positions... |

I thought it might be Community, an HCA splinter. Progressive I am not familiar with. Some spinoff of Tenet? |

Don't think so...rumor I got was that they had previously been long term care, and were just now venturing into the acute care market. And they are pretty small... |

I have so much work right outside my front door that I have started using the back door. Now there is work that way too. Quite a bit of work piling up on the inside also. The nice thing is if I don't do it today it will be there tomorrow. Right now I am trying to get a new bathroom functioning for the guest that is coming in two weeks. lb |
